Working With The Right Injury Attorney
Accidental injuries are basically covered under tort law where the victims have to be protected from any personal injury case that may take place. Any individual who suffers from physical, psychological and emotional injuries as a result of other people’s negligence is subject to such law. The injury attorney can support you in these types of situations.
One of those things that insurance firms don’t want their clients to discover is the truth that time is gold. Insurance companies are aware and taking advantage of the legal concept ‘statutes of limitations.’ What this means is that there is a limit to the time you can opt for settlement and file a lawsuit to protect your legal rights.
Majority of the ordinary citizens know nothing of this and thus fail to make a claim at the right time. An attorney though can tell you when you need to make a claim and the time limit you have. There are also victims of personal injury who wait at least two weeks before they see the doctor since they have other things in mind. They are occupied on work, the house bills, and other stuff besides seeing the doctor. This is a grave mistake.
Although there are a lot of law firms available online within your state of place, it is still ideal to make sure that the firm has lawyers to handle different types of cases and not lawyers who are not experts in their field. Auto accident cases for example would tackle cases like drunk-driving accidents.
These are a number of assumptions which the insurance adjuster may establish against you. Time is a very crucial element in this case and you need to consult the doctor immediately after getting injured. Call a lawyer when you can so he can walk you throughout the entire procedure and make sure that your case is rightly represented
Is it legal for a lawyer to pay you a referral fee for sending him business?
I had sent one personal injury attorney’s paralegal quite a bit of business. When a friend recommended I inquire if he’d be willing to pay some sort of fee for future referrals, he said it was illegal to even discuss such things.
All these referrals were personal friends (I don’t work for a hospital or an ambulance service or something) so I don’t understand why that would be illegal. Any ideas?
If answering, can you please include a citation that supports the answer? Thanks.
I don’t think so. Many companies give incentives to employees and their friends and families to refer business. As long as you’re not doing anything unethical, its fine.
